Shadow Puppet Theatre

Kailey and I have discovered the fun of a flashlight. We've been creating shadow puppet stories for the last couple of night and are having a blast. I guess I should take all those expensive toys back to the store. This is way more fun.

The Reptile Man

A couple of weeks ago...I took Kailey and Amya to see the "Reptile Man" show at Little Feet Preschool. Rich (the Reptile Man) was amazing. He brought at least 20 different animals to show the kids. He had a terrific sense of humor and the kids were fascinated!

My Little Baker

Kailey and Daddy made another round of cookies...only this time adding a bit of delicious pink frosting. Kailey helps me make dinner almost every night now. She's learning how to peel and slice cucumbers with my help. She refuses to start in the kitchen however without the apron Carol made for her birthday. She said she's loves Carol so much that she loves to wear her apron. Its so wonderful to have such a terrific group of friends. I definitely feel like we live in the best place ever!

Catching Up

Lots has happened over the last couple of months.

My sister Audrey gave Kailey a Snow White costume for Christmas. Kailey was instantly transformed the minute she put the dress on. She gracefully curtsied to everyone in the room as if it were her coronation night.

Michael went skiing with friends during 'white out' conditions that left him with an ice beard.

Mom sent Kailey heart stickers and heart shaped hair clips for Valentine's Day.

Kailey turned four in February. We had a gymnastics party that was really fun. A friend of ours made a beautiful cake complete with pink flowers and ribbons. She also put what she thought was a sparkler on top to serve as a candle. I decided not to light it because we were in a gym. Good thing. When we got the "sparkler" home, Michael looked at it more closely to discover that it really was a bottle rocket.

Kailey, Annabelle, Amya and Saylor decided to dress up as fairies and stab their orange snacks while at playgroup. Fairies can be so mysterious.

Michael needed to get golf pictures for the Hood River Chamber of Commerce. He had me dress up like a golfer to act as a model for the shoot. While we were there, the golf pro gave Kailey a little lesson. Guess what picture was purchased by the Chamber? All my hairspray and makeup for naught. I guess that's why they say to never go on stage with animals or children. They are waaaaayyy more fun to watch!

We finally bit the bullet and hired a landscaping company to install stairs up to our garden. After two years of a muddy slope, we are so excited to have these gorgeous stairs. I hope to plant rock cress along the borders so that it cascades down the rocks. Our dream garden is taking shape.

Kailey and daddy love to make cookies. And I love to eat them.

That's all from Lake Woebegone.

Daddy Night

Last sunday was "Ladies Night Out" with my friends, so Kailey got a 'Daddy Night'. Kailey was thrilled with the evening's activity of baking cookies and then decorating them with green frosting. Yum! Kailey was sure to save the cookie that said, "Love" on it for me:)

Super Mommy

Oh, if only I were this strong! Michael found this picture of Kailey and I from way back. I can't believe that the little baby in the front pack is turning four next month. Where does the time go?

Sledding in the Backyard

Our backyard has a terrific hill just right for sledding. Amya came over for a few runs and hot chocolate with Kailey. Those brave little girls had such a blast.
